SUMMER RECORDING & PRODUCTION STUDIO FOR KIDS AGES 7 - 12
Your kids will have the recording and production experience of a lifetime with CreativeKidZinc! Advantage Point Learning has teamed up with Northstar Productions to create a unique educational opportunity for pre-teens. Your budding artist, engineer, radio personality, or news reporter will receive hands-on instruction in voice recording, sound editing, mixing, producing, Foley, and more!
All kids between the ages of 7 and 12 are invited to participate. Six separate weekly sessions in the studio are offered - each with a different focus. Sessions meet Monday through Thursday from 9:30 AM until 1:30 PM. Sign your child up for one or all six!

CreativeKidZinc! Sessions:
Session 1: Tales to Tell - Big Bad Wolf
Description: A beginner's introduction to recording production. Storyline is a basic humorous enhancement of the "Three Little Pigs". Requires reading ability. This session includes voice-over (reading script), some basic singing/rapping, pitch-shifting, sound effects and Foley effects. Microphone technique, recording, editing and mixing will be addressed. We will produce an audio CD which contains the story as well as additional special projects.
Session 2: KidZinc! News
Description: Second tier level recording production. We will produce a "Kids News radio show" with sports, weather, special stories and breaking news, complete with commercials. Requires reading ability with character attitude. This session includes voice-over (reading script), some basic singing/rapping, pitch-shifting, sound effects and Foley effects. Microphone technique, recording, editing and mixing will be addressed. We will produce an audio CD.
Session 3: Tales to Tell - Goldie Locks
Description: Second tier level recording production. Storyline is a 'fractured fairy tale' version of the "Goldilocks and the Three Bears". Requires some reading ability with character attitude. This session includes voice-over (reading script), some basic singing/rapping, pitch-shifting, sound effects and Foley effects. Microphone technique, recording, editing and mixing will be addressed. We will produce an audio CD which contains the story as well as additional special projects.
Session 4: "Lost Island"
Description: Third tier level recording session. Storyline is an exciting, original script adventure which takes place on a remote tropical island. Requires better reading ability with character attitude and acting ability. This session includes voice-over (reading script), pitch-shifting, sound effects and Foley effects. Microphone technique, recording, editing and mixing will be addressed. We will produce an audio CD which contains the story as well as additional special projects.
Session 5: "Spaced Out"
Description: Second tier recording production. Storyline is an original fantastic adventure in space which includes robots, aliens and space travel. Requires reading ability with character attitude. This session includes voice-over (reading script), pitch-shifting, sound effects and Foley effects. Microphone technique, recording, editing and mixing will be addressed. We will produce an audio CD which contains the story as well as additional special projects.
Session 6: Poetic License Plates
Description: Second tier level recording production. Storylines are humorous "Dr. Seuss-like" poems and stories that incorporate sound effects. Requires basic reading ability with focus on rhythm. Microphone technique, recording, editing and mixing will be addressed. We will produce an audio CD which contains the various poems as well as additional special projects.
Tuition: $225 per session
